Born and raised in Alaska, Soren is passionate about telling captivating stories through creating dynamic and genuine images. A devoted learner he possesses a need to get beneath the surface and answer the deeper questions. Soren has an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life, allowing them to let their guard down and feel at ease. A technical thinker with a creative mind, he thrives off using technology to capture things in ways never before possible. His curiosity of cameras developed from a very young age because his mother’s 35 mm and his father’s home movie cameras. This led him to study photography and film making throughout high school and college. Growing up he spent a sizable amount of time traveling around the state often by small airplane. Two things came from this; a love of flying, and a love for Alaska. Traveling around rural Alaska showed him things that most never experience, including the unlimited beauty, rich history and countless stories to discover. Soren became a pilot in his own right in 2008, earning several certifications.

Soren’s background in photography and aviation evolved into professional film making when he started flying a drone for a production company in need of a licensed pilot. From there he continued to gain experience taking whatever jobs he could find. His experience includes production of all scales including live broadcast television, corporate videos, non-profit, national and international commercials, television productions, and feature films. He has done work in virtually all departments of film production from pre-production to project completion though finds himself at home in the camera department, including aerial cinematography. His work has appeared on networks such as BBC, National Geographic, Disney, PBS, Japanese NHK, and many more.
