Paul Andrew Lawrence was born in Oslo, Norway, and came to the US in his early twenties.  He graduated from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California, with a degree in film and video production.

Over a 30-year career, he has made his mark as a professional photographer and commercial pilot, as well as in film and television production.  He has overseen lighting, camera, and sound departments on feature films, television shows, commercials, and documentaries.

Recently, most of his work has been sound recording for television shows set in Alaska (such as “The Hunter” and “Edge of Alaska”) and feature films (including “Beyond”, “The Sleepwalker”, and “Wildlike”).  He believes in bringing the same precision and focus to the world of sound as in his photography and aviation. His current work include on location 5.1 surround sound recording for 4K HD video productions.

For the last nearly 25 years, Paul has lived in Alaska, including in some of the state’s smaller and more remote communities such as Bethel and Dillingham.  An avid hiker and a skilled pilot, he has explored much of the remote wilderness and grandeur of the state.  He currently lives in Anchorage.
